Lunch With the Akuma

"Here we are."
She looked around, the place was pretty empty.
"I'm not really hungry, but you should grab something to eat. We have quite a journey ahead of us."

"I'm paying. Are you sure?"
((In other words, eat with me so I don't feel fat alone.))
Akuma relaxed some of the tension in his shoulders.
"I figured the Hokage to be a bunch of old people. I was wrong, apparently."
He smiled slightly, but it was gone quickly.

She laughed,
"Yeah I'm told that a lot."
She looked at the menu.
"I guess I'll eat something but I can pay for myself."

"If you like. I'm getting some beef ramen."
He glanced at her with a gleam in his eyes, but it was gone swiftly. He continued staring at what seemed like the wall behind her.

Hitori looked at the menu for a little longer.
"I guess I'll have shrimp ramen."
She then looked at Akuma.
"If you'd like I could pay for your's too."

"I'm flattered, but no thanks."
Akuma glanced around the shop.
"This place is pretty small. Is it normally packed?"

"Depends what time it is."
She gave her money to the Ramen man.

"Hmm."
Akuma ordered and gave his money to the Ramen man as well.
"Is the food good?"

"It's the best in the village, then again, it's the only place in the village."
She smirked,
"Yeah, the food is pretty good though."
The ramen man brought their ramen to them.
"Thank you."

"Mmm. This is decent. I can probably make better at home..."
Akuma stared at Hitori.
"You're welcome to come over and try some one day."
Akuma continued eating.

"That would be cool."
She smiled as she continued to eat her ramen.
"I've never tried home made ramen before."

"It's a date then. Some other day, however."
Akuma rapidly consumed his ramen.
"It's my second passion."

"Really? What's your first passion?"
Unlike Akuma she slowly devoured her food.

"Training. Be it to enlighten others or to enrich myself."
Akuma smiled quickly.

"My days of training are gone. I mean, is there anything higher than Hokage?"

"Nonsense. A student is a student until the day they die. There's always something new to learn. I still have a lot to learn."
He chuckled slightly.

"I guess you're right, I'm only 16. Then again, my life has been kind of rushed. I don't have much more to do but die."

"No. I think you still have more to do...There is always something to learn, someone to love, somewhere to be."
Akuma stared at her blankly.
"I have seen the fires of hell, and I guarantee that you are far too young to experience it."

"I was married, had a kid and got divorced and I'm only 16."
She then realized what he had said about the fires of hell.
"How have you seen the fires of hell?"

"When I was 10, I was with the Akatsuki. I was full of anger and hatred for everything. I manifested it into a Jutsu, and the first time I used it, it almost tore me to pieces."
Akuma looked down.
"I was pretty much abandoned after that..."

"Wow, how did you get mixed up with the Akatsuki when you were ten?"

"That's another story..."
Akuma looked back at Hitori,
"...For another time."

Hitori looked at Akuma, alittle worried.
"Okay..."

"So, any interesting stories?"
Akuma leaned back into his chair.
"I have a few, but I'd like to hear yours."

"Depends on your idea of interesting."
She had a few flash backs while waitinng for his answer.
