Kani groaned. "Don't give me that shit again Gaara," she said, turning to look at him. "Quite that bullcrap. Sure, people should yell at you for some things but that what I just yelled at you for was unnessisary."

He kept his eyes on the ground, then sighed quietly and walked over to his desk, putting his hands on it and staring, though, not exactly sure what he was looking for, or if he was looking for anything at all.

"And maybe I should be yelled at for killing you and three innocent people. How can I be Kazekage if I've killed people who have done no harm in their life worth dying for?"

Kani sighed and looked over at him. "I have no answer to that," she said quietly.

"Exactly." He turned his head and looked at her. "Because it is the truth. I do not understand why I am considered a Kage."

Kani turned and fully looked at him. She put her hands on her hips. "I could be a bitch and say because there's no one else to take the position, but I'm not, I'm going to be nice. You're a Kage because you care about your people and you're understanding and you put them first. You're a Kage because you're kind and caring and you do what's best for them."

He smirked, looking back to his desk. "And it's just the reason why they cannot take their eyes off me in fear of me losing my mind."

Kani pursed her lips together. "You'll be fine Gaara, trust me." All her anger had melted suddenly, and she felt sad. Gaara was always putting himself down and nothing she said ever helped. Nothing anyone said every helped and she hated seeing him so depressed. "Just trust yourself and what you're doing and you'll be fine.

"How can you say that.." He glared at his hands as they curled slightly against the desk. "I'll be fine.. trust myself.. ha, as if I could.. Kani, I killed you, not to mention three villagers on my way back here. Can I honestly believe that it wont happen again, if it happened with you?"

Kani sighed. This was what she was talking about. "That wasn't really your fault. You weren't thinking clearly, and then you were too weak to take control back. As for me being a subject-" She shrugged. "And as for you worrying about it happening again-" She shrugged again. "Well you can never know. It might or it might not. It all depends on you."

"Do you understand?" He looked at her, his expression fierce. "The elders do not believe I can accomplish such a thing. Once they find out I messed up, they will take me from the job and probably put me in confinement.. but, if they don't find out, and it happens in front of their eyes, they may just need to kill me, who knows. I wont stop them."

Kani clentched her teeth together. "They'd all be dead before they did such a thing," she hissed, her anger returning. "They won't find out. And it won't happen in front of then. You have to believe that."

He clutched his chest and winced, refusing to cough. He sighed, shoving away his anger and calming himself down. "It's not easy to believe.."

"I know that," she said. "But that doesn't mean you cant try. And if you dont, then that just shows that you dont give a damn. Did you ever think about who would come and take your place if you died! huh! Did you ever think about that! It could be some cruel guy who would enslave your people! Would you want that to happen!?"

He looked at her again, staring. "You're right, Kani.. but.. I wouldn't want to be the one killing them, either."

Kani narrowed her eyes. "Well you killed three. This guy could kill hundreds! He could kill the children and rape the woman. Did you ever think about this, Gaara-sama? Did you? Think about what you do by accident, and how measly that is, and then look at what another could do purpously and greatly."
