"Simply a few will not stop an oranizion so powerful. Every single one of them is S-ranked, and some have the capability of destroying entire villages." He stared at her. "I would not suggest attempting to get in their way, it will only fail on your behalf. Which is why I must die before they can take the demon from me and use it to their advantage."

Kani bit her lip. What could she say. She didn't want Gaara to die again, especially not by those bastards. "You're right," she said, sighing. "We used to have a chance...but ever since Raku-" She stopped. No, she wasn't going to say it. "But we can at least hold them off until we get more people."

"No, because before anybody else would join to help, all of you would be dead." He continued to stare at her, trying to ignore the ache in his chest. "But, what is it about Raku that you cut yourself off on?"

Kani stared at the floor. "He betrayed us," she mummbled quietly. Then she looked up at Gaara. "None of us are going to die Gaara! We aren't! You don't know how many of us there are! The Akatsuki will not succeed!"

"No, I don't know how many of us there are, and one of us is already dead, so you must not have a clue in what you're talking about." He looked away. "And apparently one of you has betrayed the resat, so that's another off of the numbers you've got. They will succeed."

Kani narrowed her eyes and growled. "Just because we're missing two doesn't mean that we won't suceed! The Akatsuki will fall no matter what!" she screamed at him. "If you don't believe in us then that's your problem! Don't make our spirits lower then they already are!"

He smirked, turning his head even more away from her. His hand twitched over his chest, and he was tempted to shout, but knew he wouldn't, especially since it was Kani who was beside him. "It's not that I don't believe in you, it's merely that I know the Akatsuki will not be beaten easily. I've already lost you, and to my own hands at that. I do not wish to have anything else taken from me in this world, even if I never see anything that I have, I do not wish death upon them."

Kani glowered and glared at him. "We know that! But that doesn't mean that we need people contantly telling us! We're proud about what we're trying to do and too many people are putting us down! No one but us believes in us! Even the people who we're trying to protect don't give a damn!" Her hands started to shake and she balled them into fists, turning away from him.

"Believe that I do not give a damn, everybody else does." He looked at her again, his expression softer. "I am only trying to protect what I care for. If that isn't giving a damn then maybe I should just give up."

Kani let her hands relax. "Thank you for your concern, but we don't need people to worry about us. We're perfectly fine. We just need people to believe in our cause and give us reasons to continue. We will prevails, no matter what everybody says."

"Do as you please." He looked away. "Though, I do not understand why you continue to say 'we'. What is there that you are able to do now that you are dead?"

Kani growled. "I can do a lot more then I could alive," she said. "I can spy and find out secret information and I can find weak points in the Akatsuki's base. And then I can come back and tell the others. I can do a lot."

"Hm.." He looked to her once again. "Well, since everything else I say merely hurts feelings and sounds rude, I will just tell you this; Good luck."

Kani mummbled under her breath and sighed, closing her eyes. "Thank you..." she said quietl. "I'm sorry about yelling at you. It's just that nothing's been sticking in my head and my memory's going bit by bit. I think it has something with dying a second time or whatever. I'm just trying to hold on to what I know and remember..."

He nodded, looking to the floor with a blank expression. "You have a right to yell at me."
