Akuma sighed.
"It's something the others can't comprehend. The value of human life, that is..."

His expression turned to one of confusion, probably for the fifth time that day, and he turned his gaze upon Akuma once again, staring. "What..?"

"Never mind..."
Akuma wandered over to the window and stared out it.

"..." He continued to stare at him. 'So wait, I'm not going to die after all..? Oh, how interesting. Let's kill him now! No, why would I do that when he's sparing my life? Because.. um.. he put you through hell, that's why. Just give up..'

He gave a questioning look to Akuma, even if he didn't see it. "Why?"

"Kovu and I have a...slight deviation on plans. There is no longer a need to kill the hosts housing the tailed demons, there by reducing the cost of human life from the Akatsuki."
Akuma grinned and turned around.
"Besides, the Akatsuki are a bunch of asses!"

"How do you plan to take the demons without killing their hosts..?" He tilted his head slightly. "What is your goal, if you don't mind me asking?"

"My goal and intentions do not matter...."
Akuma closed his eyes.
"And how we do it is a closely guarded secret."

"Alright.." His confusion didn't go away. 'Am I not going to go through the procedure anyway..?'

"Gaara, I like to think of it this way. It works in theory, but you'd be the first to under go the procedure. If all goes well, we may be able to get the other tailed demons as well, and keep them out of the Akatsuki's hands."
Akuma grined.
"It's up to you if and when you want to do this."

"I'm the perfect gunie pig, I suppose." He gave a small smile. "If it goes wrong, the village thinks I'm dead anyway, right?"

"If it goes wrong, every one in the room will be dead."
Akuma became grave.
"And, from what I wager, the procedure will feel like squeezing a watermelon through one of the pores on your skin."

"Ah, I see.." He blinked. Then, he winced after imagining what it would feel like to go through the procedure. "Hm.. oh well.. I suppose it's better for you to try sooner than later, right..?"

"As I said, it's up to you. If all goes well you can continue being Kazekage, and I'll have Kovu watch over you for scientific perposes. What do you think?"
Akuma grinned. Indeed, his plan had risks, but life was more fun with them.
' If the rest of the Akatsuki found out about this...'

"I'll go through with it.." He looked at Love. "If all goes well, then those who care won't need to be upset."

Akuma stayed silent.
'I've got a very good feeling aout this. It can only end well for me.'
